I'M PREGNANT!!!!
Ha! OK, now that THAT'S out of the way... JD and I are so excited to announce that we will be welcoming Baby D in a few months! This post was originally written back in mid July when we first found out, but we wanted to wait to share the news with everyone until after we told our parents. We still documented the first few weeks, so over the next several days you'll see those posts popping up.
I won't go into all of the details with you as to how long we'd been trying and such, but let's just say that this was a VERY welcome surprise! I'd been charting and was disappointed to see that it looked like July would be another disappointing month. When I say disappointed that should be read as major ugly cry, sobbing, nasty at 5am, waking JD up, earth shattering melt down. It was bad. But then... it wasn't bad. I first tested a few days later and was pretty sure I had a positive. Like one of those if you squint really hard and turn on all of the lights in the bathroom, then take a picture and adjust all of the photo editing settings theremight be a line kind of positives. I opted to not tell JD yet and to test a few days later instead.
In the mean time I went and bought 5, yes 5, more tests and waited... and waited... and waited. Three days later I was staring at 4 big fat positives!!! FOUR! Two cheapos and two digitals. Those things say the word "PREGNANT" on them so there's no denying that! I immediately cleaned up the bathroom and snuck off to Walmart while JD was sleeping like a rock. I got home and went to blowing up balloons, making signs, decorating my shirt, and laying out the onesies I bought. I couldn't wait!! It was 2 more hours before that boy woke up!
His usual morning routine is to make his coffee, play with the pups, and then go turn on his computer for work. I'd already started his coffee and breakfast by the time he came out for the morning because I just had to keep busy. I was wearing a hoodie so he couldn't see the special shirt that I'd made. As he headed toward the office (where everything was set up), I told him that I'd been up for several hours because I couldn't sleep and had found a few job options for him and I'd left them up on the computer. He's been job hunting for a while so it made sense...
He went to open to door to his office and I pulled off the hoodie and snuck up behind him! He turned around to see me and was already teary eyed asking "ARE YOU SERIOUS???" I pointed to my belly and showed him the message... "I can't wait to meet you, Daddy! March 2015!" The crying and hugs ensued. He went around looking at everything and was so excited! I couldn't help but cry seeing how excited he was! The best part.... I recorded the whole thing :) He didn't know I had the webcam recording so I could see his initial reaction when he walked in the room. No, I won't be sharing that... but it exists :)

We spent the rest of the day giddy about our news and randomly crying happy tears! I went ahead and called the doctor to change what was supposed to be a 4 month follow up appointment into my first baby appointment! It still doesn't feel real!!
So here we are. Technically only 4 weeks in.Obviously way too soon to tell people, but Baby D is real, and he/she is ours, and we couldn't be happier :)
And yes... I'm going to be one of "those" mom's that's all super Pinteresty and does the chalkboard documentation. My body. My baby. My opinion. I don't care to hear yours ;)
And then after having taken my picture and already taking out the trash I realized that the initial version of the scripture that I wrote out is just Etsy made up goodness... So I found an actual version of the scripture that I liked and updated it :)
